On International Human Rights Day, the German Embassy in Rabat hosted the 1st Media Freedom Coalition Embassy Network Meeting in Rabat on 10 December 2024. Organized in collaboration with UNESCO Rabat, the Media Freedom Coalition Secretariat, and Deutsche Welle Academy, this workshop aimed at fostering dialogue and facilitating collaboration among embassy members of the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC) in Morocco, as well as to raise awareness to the Coalition’s goals, objectives, and instruments. The meeting was attended by 16 embassies from 5 continents and the EU Delegation to Morocco.
The participants explored opportunities for joint actions, such as collaborative initiatives, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building programs to strengthen press freedom and media development. Through these discussions, the network meeting sought to align local efforts with the global goals of the MFC.
